If you type ‘the anatomical eye’ into any search engine you would come up with websites trying to describe the anatomy of the human eye, explaining what physically and chemically makes us able to see. How the muscles, tissues, nerves and brain signals work together to gift us with sight. Never before has the term “anatomical eye” been associated with the philosophy behind seeing and how our individual perspective is formed (specifically in a creative context).
The Anatomical Eye is about acknowledging this observational ability and using it to deconstruct and analyse our surrounding natural environment.
This digital space exhibits an accumulation of my artwork and experimentations over the past few years.
These images visually describe the genetic anatomy of how, what, where, when and why I see.
I thought it was about time that they were finally shown to the rest of the world.
It’s with great privilege that I share with you
The Anatomical Eye.
